Cali-Anna Elliott: Cali-Ann is a second-year HVAC/R Apprentice. She started her trades journey in January 2021 at Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario. Without any experience of using tools or working with her hands, Cali dove right into new learning! After sixteen months of school, she graduated from the HVTN program in the Spring of 2023. After walking across the stage with her diploma in hand, Cali-Ann also obtained her G2 and a few other licenses along the way! Nowadays, you can find Cali-Ann loving her Refrigeration Apprenticeship at Henderson Metal because of the great mentors by her side.

WATCH: Nicole Ross

Nicole Ross: Nicole graduated high school in 2011 and decided to take a few years off from school to try and figure out what to do in life.  She became a manager at McDonald’s at the age of 18 and a waitress on the side. At 23, Nicole decided to go back to school to study to become a Forestry Technician. She chose this program almost solely because she enjoyed the outdoors and was curious about the environment. It was a one-year program and upon its completion she had received her diploma as a forestry technician and her SP100 Wildland fire fighting certificate. She then started fighting fires across Canada from Haliburton to Pickle Lake then over to Alberta and British Columbia. Nicole says she truly loved her job but knew it wasn’t sustainable for her lifestyle. That’s when she made the switch to Bartlett tree experts where she obtained her pesticide license and became their tree care specialist. After a wonderful year with them, Nicole landed an apprenticeship with Hydro One. She has been there for a little over two years now and is extremely happy with where her journey has taken her.
