Linamar Corporation, a diversified global manufacturing company of highly engineered products, will provide $500,000 to Conestoga College to support a new scholarship program for students pursuing education in preparation for careers in industrial skilled trades.
Those with a genuine interest in trades-related improvements, serving and protecting the public interest, enhancing consumer protection and increasing trade productivity are encouraged to apply for membership on one of the various boards.
Skills Ontario Industrial Mechanic Millwright Tech Chair Craig Brazil has just returned from the 43rd running of Worldskills competition in Sao Paulo Brazil. Craig was the Chief Expert in the Industrial Mechanic Millwright (IMM) competition; his competition had 8 competitors from all four corners of the globe.

In 2015, Team Ontario had six competitors in Sao Paolo, Brazil: Kaitlyn Hoiles, Beauty Therapy; Ryan Green, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance; Tyler Magri, CNC Milling; Winston Lord, Electronics; Maxime Marineau & Zachary Larose, Mobile Robotics (Team of 2).

Tiverton, ON -- A group of local youth, heading into Grades 7 and 8 in the fall, was learning about the skilled trades, one hands-on activity at a time, during the Skills Ontario’s Skills Work! Summer Camp held July 13-17 in Tiverton.
