Each June, Linamar Corporation offers apprenticeship positions in three trade areas (Millwright, Electrician and Machinist) to graduating high school students. In addition, there are 6 scholarships available to Conestoga College for the Mechanical Technician General Machinist diploma program. These programs have guaranteed co-op, and opportunity for full-time employment upon graduation.
“A majority of leaders at Linamar have a skills based background and education,” Linamar Corporation Director of Human Resources Shaun Scott said in a release. “Together we need to change the perception of skills trades and technology to ensure that students are not denied a career path to successful careers as leaders and managers.”
