Building on the success of last year’s #PracticeSafeWork Twitter contest, WSIB is expanding their campaign to include Instagram and Facebook, platforms popular amongst youth.
The goal is to engage young workers about health and safety when they’re most likely on the job: during the summer. Using the hashtag #PracticeSafeWork, WSIB will be tweeting about health and safety roles and responsibilities, employer and employee rights around unsafe work, and practices to reduce the risk of a workplace injury or illness.
How will the campaign work? Young workers are asked to show – on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook – how they practice safe work on the job by posting a photo, with their employer’s permission, using the hashtag #PracticeSafeWork.
As an incentive and to reward young workers for their participation, daily cash prizes will be awarded!
We also encourage you to regularly share #PracticeSafeWork posts on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and spread the word to the young workers in your network!
