Take your creativity to the next level and show us your designs for the Skills Ontario Competition medals and pins! These contests are open to all students who attend a high school (grades 9-12) or college/training delivery agent in Ontario.
The Skills Ontario Pin & Medal contest opens each September at the start of each academic year, and closes by early November. Any and all Secondary and Post-Secondary students from across the province are invited to submit their custom designs by the deadline, for a chance build their resume, win prize money and be recognized as the provincial winner. Winning designs for both pin and medal, are immortalized in metal and reproduced by the thousands for the Skills Ontario Competition.
Anyone can submit a design!
- Student’s do not need to register for this event and can start submitting their design as soon as the scope is posted
- Students also do not need to be enrolled in a graphic design program. Any Secondary or Post-Secondary student, from ANY program can submit! This contest does not follow the same eligibility as other Skills Ontario Contests in that you must be enrolled in a corresponding class to the contest you wish to participate it. As well, International students are permitted to participate in the Pin & Medal Design contest.
- Read and review the scope, find the provided template and submit your designs (hand drawn or computer generated).
- Submissions are accepted by email to competitions@skillsontario.com or by mail to the Skills Ontario office. Student’s may submit their designs themselves directly to Skills Ontario. If a file size is too large, or is for an entire class being emailed and is too large, please reach out to competitions@skillsontario.com and a dropbox link could be provided. They must be submitted by the due date noted in the scope, early November.
Teachers: Skills Ontario welcomes you to incorporate this contest into your fall Visual Arts/ Technology/ Computer Studies / CAD and Graphic Design curriculum. Entire classes may participate for the chance to win! Individual entries per student welcome, no group projects please.
