Program Description
Trade Up Move Up (TUMU) is a Skills Ontario program funded through the Government of Ontario’s Skills Development Fund (SDF). The program helps 250 participants prepare for careers in in-demand skilled trades through short-term training, career development support, industry exposure, and connections to employers.
The program is designed with employment outcomes in mind. Participants receive up to four weeks of training and support to build confidence, strengthen workplace-ready skills, and connect with employers hiring for skilled trades roles.
Who Can Participate?
TUMU is open to eligible participants who are interested in starting or advancing a career in the skilled trades. The program is committed to increasing access to training, employment, and career development opportunities across Ontario.
To participate, applicants must:
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Reside in Ontario
- Be interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades
- Be available to participate in program training and activities
- Meet any additional program eligibility requirements
This program supports individuals looking to build skills, explore career pathways, and take the next step toward employment in the skilled trades.
What You’ll Receive

- One-on-one support from a Case Manager for up to three months after training completion
